Safe Haven is a place that anyone can go to and feel revitalised. Statistics of depression and mental health problems are high in Hackney compare to the national rates. The facilities provided at Safe Haven include drop in access to stress reduction activities like home growing, relaxation experiences, and art therapy.

Practical support includes giving people predominantly healthy eating options and also providing an environment to do exercise in the gentle and meditative form of yoga. This programme reduces levels of cortisol (stress hormone) in the body while other aspects induce the production of endorphins in the body thus ensuring people leave ‘Safe Haven’ feeling happier than when they entered.
