Designing a unique library, which offers the community an area not just for reading but a space that can satisfy this quirky corner of London with a creative green space- something which this particular neighbourhood seems to lack. The design unites the community providing spaces for the playful children from the ever-growing family community, to the creative clusters which characterise the area to the elderly inhabitants whom currently lack much opportunity.
The design plays on the idea of creating a forest experience for the user, a space to offer a calming feel and mirror the forest environment- the structure emphasises it’s use of natural light and the shadows it therefore creates. The striped effect enveloping the space and creating an immersive environmen depicting that of the forest.
