PROJECT TITLE

Myka Cutamora
As Hackney Wick is experiencing a magnificent redevelopment, which therefore means the city like that the community grew up in will be demolished. Many of the main characteristic of the area will soon disappear and due to this issue, having explored Hackney Wick and observed that there are a lot of graffitis and artists as well as studios in the area. Now, in an all too familiar story, development projects threaten the area’s very existence.

But artists in Hackney Wick’s Vittoria Wharf neighbourhood, located on Fish Island, are banding together to fight eviction. Due to this manner, designing and providing a space where artist could show off their work as well having the idea of preserving the history of Hackney Wick’s street art. By doing so,  designing a library as well as an exhibition space and my goal is to get the community together as well educating people about the history of Hackney Wick and bringing people in by experiences.
